Daily tasks for a clean home which you can complete in just a few minutes a day. None of these tasks take more than 10 minutes so you can do one or two a day, depending on how much time you have.
Do you ever look around your home and think “How can I possibly clean all this mess, I have to go in ten minutes” and then go sit on the couch, phone in hand, ignoring the mess?
Yeah me too, I’ve totally been there. And sometimes, I’m still there! I’m a mom of 3 busy kids, energy levels sometimes just don’t allow for “extra work”.
BUT that doesn’t mean that I can’t get one of the messes in the house taken care of in ten minutes. A lot of us put off our cleaning and organizing household tasks is because cleaning A WHOLE HOUSE takes hours and it’s totally intimidating. But you don’t have to clean the whole house every day, just small chunks of the house every day and your home will remain clean.
And if you need to tidy, I have an awesome keeping your home tidy method which you need to check out!
Here are some cleaning tasks that you CAN do in ten minutes or less and if you do them daily, your home will become cleaner than you’ve ever imagined it could be.

Daily Tasks For A Clean Home
List Your Priorities
If you really want the 10 minutes a day method to work for you, you should make a list of all the things you want to organize and clean in your home. Maybe its the hallway closet that spits out towels every time the door opens? Maybe it’s the Tupperware drawer? Whatever it may be that needs a little love in your home, write it down.
I like to use the “tasks” app on my phone to keep all my lists and sometimes I’ll even use Google keep! I like both apps, and use them both daily to help keep me organized with my home life.
Keep Cleaners Handy And Ready
If you’re decluttering or organizing, then grab a box or two so you can have a space for donations, garbage, and items to relocate.
Whip out your timer on your cell phone and see how much you can really get cleaned in ten minutes!
Finished with the bathroom wipedown with 3 minutes to spare? Maybe the doorknobs in the home could use a disinfecting wipe, or perhaps the garbages in the bedrooms can be changed within your 3-minute timeline. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish in 3 minutes.
Make A Schedule And Stick To It
People are busy. I totally get it, I’m swamped all day everyday too… and the only way to keep all areas of your life organized and running smoothly is to create a schedule, a routine if you will.
If you only have 10 minutes a day to clean, make a schedule of which tasks you actually want to be completed every day and do just those tasks!
List Of 8 Tasks You Can Complete In Ten Minutes
Dust Your Home
Dusting is very important for keeping the air in your home clean and fresh. If you have a larger home, pick one room a day to wipe down all the dust.
Be sure to dust from top to bottom, knocking off any dust from the higher surfaces down to the floor.
You may want to consider a yearly duct cleaning service if you notice that the dust gets worse when you put your furnace on in the winter time.
Wash A Couple Of Dishes
I don’t have a dishwasher, so I NEED to wash dishes throughout the day as we go. This used to be an overwhelming task when I left it all to do after dinner, but since I started washing the dishes as we use them, my time in the kitchen washing has significantly decreased!
So if you have 10 little cups from all the little people in your home who need a new cup every time they want a new glass of water, rinse them out and place them back into the cupboard. Wash your morning coffee mug with the breakfast dishes, which shouldn’t really take more than 10 minutes anyway unless you made some big feast for the family.
Sweep The Floors
Sweeping is a great task to do when you’re limited on time. It’s amazing how much cleaner a house looks when it’s all swept up.
Vacuum The Rugs
Sometimes rugs in the home get all those crumbs and dirt from shoes on them. So if you have ten minutes, grab your trusty vacuum (or your vacuum mop!) and just vacuum the rugs and mats in your home. Have a lot of carpets? Maybe leave the big carpeted areas for the weekend if the task is longer than ten minutes.
Bathroom Wipe Up
Personally I clean my bathrooms daily, so it only takes me 2 minutes to clean the bathroom. I have 2 boys and a husband, and so keeping the toilets clean is a priority!
But if your bathroom is looking a little rough and you only have ten minutes, I suggest scrubbing the toilet and wiping the bathroom countertop. If you have extra time, organize and put away the clutter on your bathroom counter, I know you have it!
Make The Beds
Making the beds isn’t exactly cleaning, but it FEELS cleaner in your home when the beds are made. It just feels so good to have a made-up bed, don’t you agree?
If your kids are old enough, they can make their own beds but if they are little, then go ahead and make their beds for them. It should only take a few minutes to make all the beds.
Fold One Load Of Laundry
I like to do laundry daily. It piles up and gets out of control if I skip a day. It’s insane!
After a load is finished washing and drying, It takes less than 10 minutes to fold that load up and put it away. This makes the laundry situation so manageable.
Clean & Clear Surfaces
Have a messy coffee table? Is the hallway cabinet getting cluttered with mail and keys and random junk? Need to wipe down your windows? These are great tasks that only take a few minutes of your time to clean off and make presentable.
So you see how easy it can be to manage your home in just ten minutes a day? Don’t overthink it, it doesn’t have to be complicated. You Can Do It!!!!!!!
