Cleaning Hacks For Crystal Clear Windows
The ideal time to clean
When the sun shines directly on the windows, the cleaning solution dries quickly and leaves a residue in the shape of spots and streaks.
Cleaning should be done when the sun’s rays are not directly striking the windows, on a cold day, or even in the early morning or late at night.
Tools for cleaning
Not only should the time for washing the windows be appropriate, but so should the cleaning materials. Before you begin cleaning, you need know the cloth or equipment to use for a thorough cleaning. Even if you wipe your windows with an old cloth or towel, dirt and lint will remain.
For a lint-free clean, use a microfiber cloth. Newspapers are also an excellent alternative for a thorough window cleaning. If the windows aren’t too dirty, a spray bottle is a needs to-have for storing the cleaning solution or water.
One of the finest combinations for shining the windows is a microfiber cloth or newspaper, together with the cleaning solution and some water. If you’re concerned about getting newspaper ink on your finger, you may use paper coffee filters instead.
A squeegee may be used to wipe the windows instead of wiping them with a newspaper or towel. It also provides a streak-free and flawless clean.
Avoid Hard Bristles
Cleaning the windows with strong bristle brushes and abrasive cloths might cause harm. I once used a stiff bristles brush to clean the window in your room, which left some scratches on the glass. After that, I simply used a microfiber cloth or, sometimes, a newspaper to make the windows sparkle again.
Cleaning Solution Using Vinegar
A distilled solution of white vinegar is an effective cleaner. Make this cleaner by combining equal parts vinegar and warm water. Take a simple measurement, such as 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of warm water, then mix it together. Use this solution to clean the windows fast.
If you wish to use this solution to clean your kitchen windows, you need first wash them with soapy water. Alternatively, you may add the Dawn dishwashing detergent (about 5-6 drops) straight to the vinegar solution and use the resultant solution to clean the windows all at once (I prefer this route). This is due to the fact that kitchen windows are typically filthy. If they aren’t, simply use the distilled vinegar solution.
Rinse and wash the windows after cleaning with this vinegar-soap solution to remove the soapy film. Since a result, don’t use too much dishwashing liquid, as the dish soap may leave a soapy film on the surface, making it more difficult to clean.
Are you out of vinegar and too lazy to go out and get some? There’s no reason to be concerned. I have a suggestion for you.
Tea that is black.
Brew a strong cup of black tea and let it aside for about an hour to cool. Fill a spray bottle with it or dip a cloth in it and let it work its magic on the glass.
The key component responsible for this enchantment is the tannic acid found in tea. Furthermore, black tea may be used to clean washroom mirrors.
Fix Scratches With Toothpaste
Is there a scuff on the window? Don’t be concerned. Here’s a simple solution you should attempt. Make a scratch (or scratches) needing non-gel toothpaste. Personally, I have yet to try it (your good luck: the windows are scratch-free). I read that elsewhere, so I’m not sure whether it’ll work. You may test it out, and I’d appreciate it if you could let me know if it works or not.
Remove Stickers From Window
As someone who has dealt with this issue, I realise how tough it is to remove the remnants of the sticker. However, WD-40 can make it a simple process that you can complete with your eyes closed. WD-40 is an excellent cleaner that will quickly remove the dirt from the window.
Clean The Edges
It is natural for the cleaning solution and water to drop all the way down and accumulate at the borders of the windows as you wipe them off.
Use a microfiber cloth or a soft cloth to wipe away the collected liquid. The microfiber cloth absorbs the water or cleaning solution and leaves no lint on the glass. A soft steel wool pad also works nicely.
Scan the windows from varius angles and remove any remaining watermarks to achieve a flawless window.
Getting Rid of Hard Water Spots
Window Screen Cleaning
Window screens are covered in dirt, spider Ibs, and other types of filth that I despise. The window screens may be effectively cleaned with a lint roller.
Window Tracks Cleaning
Muck and sludge collect in the window tracks over time. It’s difficult to get your hands in these tight spaces.
Baking soda and vinegar are a no-effort option for cleaning such filthy tracks.
All you need to do is sprinkle baking soda in these tracks and then pour vinegar on top of them. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. The vinegar interacts with the baking soda, producing bubbles, and the resulting combination loosens all of the muck.
Then, needing a sponge brush, dig inside the window tracks and clean out anything in there.
